This product worked really well. I took shortcuts and did not completely follow the instructions, so it may have worked even better if I had. But even as it is, I’m very pleased

The liquid vinyl gets gummy on the cap and brush fairly quickly, but once you close the bottle, the gum dissolves in a few hours. And once you get over the irritation of working around the gummy goo, it really doesn’t get in your way. Definitely keep the brush in the bottle as much as you can while working with it to slow down the gum buildup.

I used this on a rack that’s 2-3 years old and had significant rust at the tips of the tines and also at the bottom where we usually put our thick heavy plates. This kit did a great job of covering up that rust and re-sealing the rack.

While working on my rack, I observed that once the original vinyl coating got compromised in a single place, water started working underneath the vinyl at that place and caused rust to grow under vinyl that was still intact. In some places the rust grew to the point that it erupted through the vinyl, giving the water yet another place to enter.

So my advice is this: if you have a new rack with all the vinyl intact, buy this kit and install the caps on all your tines–at least on all the tines that will see heavy wear as you insert/remove dishes. Keep the liquid vinyl, and proactively repair any breaches you see in the vinyl on the rack. You will probably end up doing very little repair and will greatly prolong the life of your rack.

And if you have a rusty rack that isn’t too bad yet, this kit is a great way to get a lot more life out of it before you have to replace it. If you really have a lot of time, you could probably repair a rack no matter how bad off it was, but for me if the job is going to take much more than an hour it’s better to just pay – for a new rack and use the time for something else…

This is a really good repair option, you need to count the number of tines on your racks since you can order in different qtys. I installed caps on all tines and used the touch up paint a little bit. The glue is a little tricky, but follow the directions and you will be good to go.

Grandpa’s Tales is the neatness book I have read so far, It has many stories relating to superstitions and old home remedies the author makes one feels as he or she is actually in each of the story on a hot summer evening relaxing on his or her front porch. My favorite story was the casket, where the father wanted revenge for his son’s death and request the undertaker to buried his son face down in the casket,It was amazing of what happened after that. Once I started reading I didn’t want to put the book down. Get the book because its a great book!!
